TRIP DESCRIPTION:
Join us for an awesome overnight beach trip to Malibu! We will spend Saturday being active and exploring the Santa Monica Mountains followed by a night in one of California’s few on-the-beach campgrounds. Expect great ocean views, a killer sunset, and chance to dive into the Pacific!
PACKING LIST:
Sandwich or similar for lunch on Saturday
2 Large, Full Waterbottles
Multiple layers— it can be windy on the coast!
Swimsuit
Solid hiking shoes
Flashlight
If you have: Sleeping bag, tent, ground pad
WAIVERS
WE WILL PROVIDE: FOR OVERNIGHTS ETC
Meals other than Saturday lunch on the trail
Above mentioned overnight gear if you don’t have it

Coach Culbertson has spent time all over coastal California, eventually finding his way to the USC physical education department! He is an expert surfer and avid backpacker. If it’s outside, he’s probably done it! Expect to hear everything from learning about long shore drift to stories of some of the gnarliest waves in Cali!

SCENERY: The Pacific, Santa Monica Mountains, chance to potentially see marine mammals or check out tide pool life
FUN FACT: Mugu Point State Park has 5 miles of coastline but over 70 miles of hiking trails
