Come join Peaks and Aerospace Engineering professor Matthew Gilpin for a lovely morning in the Angeles National Forest. This 5.6 mile hike features telescopes, tunnels, and great views of the city! P.S… there might be a swing at the top! :0

PROFESSOR: MATTHEW GILPIN

DEPARTMENT: AEROSPACE ENGINEERING

Dr. Gilpin is a Senior Lecturer in the AME department where he teaches classes focused on laboratory skills. His research is on the development of novel diagnostics for emerging in-space propulsion technologies and he is currently working on high-speed flow measurements which apply common hemodynamic techniques to aerospace applications. As an undergrad at USC, Dr. Gilpin was on the first team of guides for SC Outfitters and is excited to continue exploring Southern California!

SCENERY: Telescopes, a tunnel, and swings at the top make this quick day hike worth it!

FUN FACT: This mountain used to have a train line to the top! We might see some of its ruins.
