Join Office of Religious Life’s Jim Burklo on a fantastic day trip in the Ojai wilderness! After hiking Gridley trail (6 miles) we will head to Burklo’s home for a homemade lunch and swim session afterwards. Not hooked yet? You also get to meet his iconic pet donkeys Sespe and Sisar (named after local Ojai trails)!

DEPARTMENT: Office of Religious Life
Professor Burklo is a progressive Christian and one of the most genuine and friendly people you can meet. (Seriously he emails using at least three exclamations per sentence, what a treat). In the Office of Religious Life he dedicates his time to building community among students and implementing humanitarian programs like the Jubilee co-op café (free vegan food at URC every wed 12-1:30 PM!). He is also an ordained United Church of Christ pastor and is the author of six published books on progressive christianity. Check out his personal blog, Musings!

SCENERY: Beautiful green mountains, wild flowers and blue skies in Ojai!
FUN FACT: The entire trail is 12 miles! But the fun part is we will not be hiking all of that :)
