Take a trip up to Agua Dulce to see the ~iconic~ Vasquez Rocks with SCA Student Services Director Marcus Anderson! This area has been featured in a number of films and TV shows, including Star Trek, Westworld, and Planet of the Apes. We’ll be hiking about 2.5 miles, with some time allotted to scramble around on the rocks.

PROFESSOR: Marcus Anderson
Marcus Anderson is a Trojan alum, with a B.A. in Cinema-Television through SCA and an M.Ed. in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs through the Rossier School of Education. Marcus now serves as the Director of Student Services, where he oversees Undergraduate Academic Advising, SCA Scholarships, SCA Student Organizations, and Orientations and various signature events and programming. He acts as a cross-campus liaison to related academic and student affairs-centered departments.
Marcus previously worked in the entertainment industry and at USC Thornton School of Music before joining SCA Office of Student Services in 2006. He also has an adorable dog named Campbell!
PEAK: Vasquez Rocks

SCENERY: Jagged sandstone literally ERUPTING from the Earth and a lizard or two…
FUN FACT: The rocks are named after one of California’s most notorious bandits, Tiburcio Vasquez, who used them as a hideout in 1874. Vasquez himself is rumored to be one of the inspirations for the fictional character Zorro!
