Ray Miller Backbone Trail w/ Diego Lopez {Occupational Therapy}

This 5.4-mile, 1046 elevation gain hike with Professor Diego Lopez is not one you’ll want to miss! We’ll have a gorgeous view of the Pacific and many fun conversations, as Diego is known for being one of the most bubbly and approachable professors on campus.

PACKING LIST:

  • Hiking boots / Tennis shoes

  • Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses

  • H2O

  • WAIVERS



Having gotten both his bachelors and masters degree at USC, Assistant Professor of Clinical Occupational Therapy Diego Lopez is a true Trojan. He is passionate about helping students use their innate skills so they can thrive, saying “We are all the experts in our own life, sometimes we just need some help to realize that.” His classes put an emphasis on implementing using evidence-based practices to support student well-being and mental health.

FUN FACT: Ray Miller was the long time campground host at La Jolla Canyon parking area, and the trail was named in memory of him.
