Join Professor Krishnamachari on a one-of-a-kind, once-in-a-lifetime birding trip to the Sepulveda Reserve! This will be a pleasant stroll around the reserve’s lake, where we will look (and listen) for a wide variety of birds that live in or pass through the Los Angeles Basin. Professor Krishnamachari is an avid birder and will be helping us observe the area’s birds.

Professor Krishnamachari is an avid birder who often begins lectures updating the class on his latest sightings. When he is not birding, he is a professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a joint appointment in Computer Schience. He leads the Autonomous Networks Research Group and the Center for Cyber-physical systems and IoT. His research interests include networks, distributed systems, machine learning, blockchain, and engineering for social good. He has collaborated and consulted with engineering/tech companies including Boeing, GM, Sprint, Bosch, Chevron, Honeywell, and Coinbase. Besides birding, Professor Krishnamachari is interested in languages, eastern philosophy, history, and K-drama.
