Join us for a 9.5 mile hike (1250ft elevation gain) out-and-back in the San Gabriel Mountains with Professor Ronald Osborn. We will traverse several stream crossings, go through scrub bush, and end at a mysterious bridge. This is a perfect hike to conclude your semester on, enjoy breathtaking river views, and hear about the many places and wonderful work Professor Osborn has done around the world.
NOTE: Prepare to potentially get wet while hiking! We will cross the San Gabriel River several times throughout the hike and depending on the water level, we can get wet.

Professor Osborn grew up in Thailand, Taiwan, and Zimbabwe. He has worked with humanitarian organizations in Kosovo, Guinea, and Sudan; hiked between the Pyrenees mountains of France and Spain; participated in an ultimate Frisbee "tournament for peace" in North Korea, and much more. He acquired his PhD in the Political Science and International Relations at USC and a couple years later came back to teach in the department.
