Mojave w/ Karin Huebner {Polymathic Academy}


TRIP DESCRIPTION:

We are headed to Mojave! That’s right folks, boogie boarding down some sand dunes! Other surprises in store as well. Don’t miss this trip!!

PACKING LIST:

  • Warm clothes for a chilly night in the desert

  • H2O (at least 2L)

  • WAIVERS

  • Sleeping Bag (we will provide if you don’t have one!)

  • Sleeping Pad (we will provide if you don’t have one!)

  • Mess kit (fork, knife, plate, cup, etc.)

  • Hiking boots

  • Flashlight or headlamp

  • Additional snax you may want

WE WILL PROVIDE:

  • Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast, Lunch (byo breakfast day 1)

  • Tents

  • Boogie Boards!!!

  • Good ~ vibes ~

DEPARTMENT: Polymath

RATE MY PROFESSOR: "What an interesting woman!" Two people said this so you know you want to come hear some of Karin’s amazing stories.

Karin Huebner is the Academic Director of the Sidney Harman Academy for Polymathic Studies, which focuses on bringing together people of all disciplines for conversation and action. She also has a Ph.D. in history and specializes in Gender and Sexuality, Native American Studies, and the North American West. Before her career in academia, Dr. Huebner was a professional tennis player, competing on the Women's World Tennis Tour and in the US Open, French Open, and Wimbledon. She has officially been inducted the Peaks Hall of Fame as a certified Peaks Legend.
