TRIP DESCRIPTION:
Join us on a classic Malibu hike to Sandstone Peak to get some sick views of the Malibu hills and the beautiful ocean! This will be a mix of Peaks and Professors and Professionals as Dan Schwerin (Hilary Clinton’s former head speechwriter and a visiting Fellow at Annenberg) will be joining us along with his wife YJ Fischer (VP of Gov’t Partnerships at Bird and a former State Dep’t diplomat!) and their newborn son (just a baby!). So join us if you want to talk about politics, scooters, and everything in between!

Sunscreen/sunglasses/hat
Lunch/Snacks
Sturdy shoes (Hiking shoes preferred but tennis shoes are fine as well)
NOTE: Be prepared for the sun! The fire wiped out most of the shade that used to cover this trail, so most of it is very exposed now.

Dan Schwerin is a prolific speechwriter and scholar in the field of political communication, having served as Hillary Clinton’s head speechwriter and traveled the globe with the U.S. State Department. Special bonus includes his super cool wife YJ (who helped negotiate the Iran Deal @IR nerds!!) and their baby Theo!

SCENERY: 5.6 mile trail with almost 1400 ft of elevation gain!! The views include the Pacific Ocean!!
FUN FACT: People who collect sand are called “arenophiles”!!
