Welcome to Peaks and Professors and the Periodic Table… From the Calcium Carbonate that makes up the Trona Pinnacles to the largest Borax Mine in the world, this trip will rock. On Saturday, we’ll stop by the Rio Tinto Boron Mine and ghost towns as we head up to the towering tufa spires of Trona Pinnacles, where we’ll spend the night where Star Trek was filmed. On Sunday, we’ll scramble through lava rocks at Fossil Falls before heading back to campus. Joining us will be Finance Professor Larry Harris, an experienced Peaks Professor, and his dogs — Peaks and Pups?
