W Mandeville Fire Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90049
Located on the eastern edge of Topanga State Park, West Mandeville Fire Road climbs up from Santa Monica to Mulholland Drive and San Vincente Mountain Park, with sweeping views of the surrounding open spaces and canyons below. Come on this 7.1 mile hike with public health professor Michael Cousineau to try (and fail) to keep up with his unstoppable power walk. While Dr. Cousineau taught his final class in July, he has decades of knowledge to share about a wide range of global health issues and the stories he’s collected along the way.

PROFESSOR: Michael Cousineau
DEPARTMENT: Population and Public Health Sciences
Dr. Cousineau has taught hundreds of USC MPH students, lead several undergraduate study abroad trips, conducted extensive research, and is currently still generously supporting early-career researchers in their work. In his field, he’s passionate about addressing the health needs of vulnerable populations and studying US health policy. Outside of work, Dr. Cousineau can be seen trekking across all of the beautiful terrain California has to offer with his family and playing guitar.
