Shake off the Sunday scaries with a beautiful hike in the Malibu Creek State Park. Join avid hiker and PhD student Rachel Newman for this 3.3 mile hike that ends with beautiful ocean views.

Professor Newman is in her sixth year of a PhD program in English Literature at USC and studies 19th century British novels. She also teaches writing as an Assistant Lecturer for Thematic Option. She enjoys hiking and horseback riding in the LA area, and has spent time backpacking in the Eastern Sierras, culminating in a trip up Mount Whitney. Ask her about her hiking adventures, recent research in the UK or passion for English Literature!

FUN FACT: The Santa Monica Mountains have more than 1,000 archeology sites of significance, primarily from the Californian Native American cultures of the Tongva and Chumash people.
