TRIP DESCRIPTION:
Join us and Astronomy professor, Vahe Peroomian, for a legendary stargazing trip to Joshua Tree! If you have ever wanted to get out of the city lights to see the stars or ask an expert about space this is your chance. We will arrive in Joshua Tree with time for a 6 mile hike around Lost Horse Mine to check out the landscape and the wildflower blooms. After the hike we’ll cook up a hot dinner while we wait for it to get dark and for the stars to come out. Then we’ll head for a night stroll to Arch Rock (pictured) for some scenic stargazing. Professor Peroomian will also be bringing along his telescope so we can take a closer look at the night sky. Expect to be back at USC around midnight for a cozy sleep in your own bed!

Professor Peroomian teaches both Physics and Astronomy at USC, including the new “Life in the Universe” course all about the possibilities of other life forms in space.
