Come join us on a beautiful hike to the tallest point in the Santa Monica Mountains, Sandstone Peak! This 5.6 mile hike is filled with some amazing sandstone rock formations and gorgeous views of the Malibu Hills and Pacific Ocean. You’re sure to be inspired by the inspiring view from Inspiration Point!

PACKING LIST:

  • Day Pack (hat/sunglasses recommended!)

  • H2O (2L)

  • WAIVERS

  • Sturdy shoes (hiking shoes are preferred but tennis shoes are fine too!)

RATE MY PROFESSOR: "One of the best professors I’ve had at USC!"

Christa Bancroft is a Professor of Biological Sciences. After a PhD in Influenza Virus Receptors and Genomic Packaging from the University of California, San Francisco, she began as a Faculty Lecturer in 2003. Today, she is an Assistant Professor (Teaching) in Biological Sciences, teaching classes such as The Nature of Human Health and Disease and Biochemistry. She has published, taught and lectured widely on virology, genomic screening, and biotechnology.

SCENERY: 6 mile round trip with over 1,000 feet of elevation gain! Amazing sandstone formations and views of the Santa Monica Mountains!

FUN FACT: This is the tallest peak in the Santa Monica Mountains!
