Viet Thanh Nguyen is the author of The Sympathizer, a New York Times best seller and Pulitzer Prize winner. His other books are Nothing Ever Dies: Vietnam and the Memory of War, Race and Resistance: Literature and Politics in Asian America, as well as The Committed, the sequel to The Sympathizer, and Chicken of the Sea, a children’s book written in collaboration with his six-year-old son, Ellison. At USC, he is the Aerol Arnold Chair of English, and teaches in the English, American Studies and Ethnicity, and Comparative Literature departments. He is the recipient of fellowships from the Guggenheim and MacArthur foundations, and writes for Time, The Guardian, The Atlantic, the Los Angeles Times, and the New York Times.
