Join us for this AMAZING collaboration between Peaks and the First Year Transfer Experience, a club that helps first year transfer students integrate into the USC community through collaboration events and other internal social events. We’ll be hiking around 2.5 miles at Elysian park and will be joined by an expert in the history and biodiversity of Los Angeles, professor Thomas Gustafson!

PACKING LIST:

  • Hiking shoes (or a decent pair of sneakers)

  • Water (at least 1L)

  • Snacks

  • Hat and Sunscreen

  • Waivers



Professor Gustafson is fascinated by the histories and mythologies of Los Angeles. He relates music, film, and literature to reveal the different understandings people have of the city. He teaches America, the Frontier, and the New West (get your cowboy on) and LOS ANGELES: THE CITY, THE NOVEL THE MOVIE.
