Miki Turner is an award-winning journalist and the founder of ACCSA. She has held positions at ESPN, the NFL Network, MSNBC, AOL, BET and several newspapers and is now teaching the next generation of journalists in her photojournalism, sports commentary, digital storytelling and sports production classes. Miki puts diversity and inclusion at the forefront of all her work, which shines through the countless committees she serves and the projects she does not just personally, but also with her students.
Rebecca Haggerty is a broadcast and digital journalist and is the associate director for the undergraduate journalism program. She spent more than two decades working in broadcast news and documentaries and has received several journalism awards, including national and local Emmys. At USC, she is the director of video and multimedia at Annenberg’s Media Center and has created an ongoing initiative in which students work to support local news outlets in rural communities in an intensive two-week reporting course. She has also designed a course on drugs and the media with a colleague from the School of Pharmacy, awarded an Interdisciplinary Teaching Grant by the provost.
