Bear Canyon w/ Michael Shindler

  • Switzer Falls Trail, Angeles Crest Highway, Tujunga, CA Los Angeles USA (map)

Come hike with USC’s favorite CS professor - Michael Shindler - as we go deep into the Angeles National Forest through Bear Canyon! Rumor has it, Prof. Shindler is planning to share the one reason that he might consider hacking into the school’s grade database to change the grading system and give a student an A+! More importantly, he also appreciates a good meme, especially featuring the USC Computer Science department. Join us for brunch after in Downtown Pasadena with the world’s best zucchini bread.

PROFESSOR: Michael Shindler

DEPARTMENT:

Computer Science

RATE MY PROFESSOR: "Easily one of the nicest, funniest, most relatable professors I've ever taken. He's a great mentor, accessible outside of class, and hosts student events/sponsors ACM.

Professor Shindler's recent research focuses primarily on educational issues in computer science; in the past, my work touched on computations on large datasets, machine learning, approximation algorithms, streaming algorithms, and data mining. His Erdos number is three, and he loves USC football.
