PROFESSOR: Scott Kanoski

DEPARTMENT: Biological Sciences

Professor Scott Kanoski’s behavioral neuroscience research delves into the biological systems that underpin feeding behaviors and lead to obesity. He also studies how the brain changes due to the Western diet, leading to changes that we might not be aware of such as learning impairments and dementia. His work looks at the gut microbiome (the little things that live in our digestive system) to try linking our cognitive abilities to our diet. It’s fascinating to think how the orange chicken you eat at EVK dining hall may change how you do on your OChem midterm!
