Sarah Kessler is a media scholar, television critic, and assistant professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of Southern California. Her articles and essays have been published in The Brooklyn Rail, Camera Obscura, Film Quarterly, Triple Canopy and elsewhere. She is currently working on two books: a popular account of TV binge-watching and an academic monograph on vocal politics at the turn of the twenty-first century. She edits the Public Books TV section. She loves cats, whales, and science fiction!
PEAK: Malibu Creek State Park

SCENERY: A mostly flat hike with some ultra scenic mountain views, a lot of water, and wildlife.
FUN FACT: Malibu Creek State Park has been host to many film sets, including MA.S.H. and Planet of the Apes!
